Volunteerism

Our founder Sarah Sharif has donated various events, workshops, and hackathon events since 2015 in service of the community in Austin, San Francisco, and London. Sharif also volunteers at Women In Innovation and sits on the nonprofit board of Bright Tide UK. Sharif has also served as an Innovation Fellow to Nordic Innovation House.

Sharif started her volunteering at age ten recycling for her childhood community in Reading, United Kingdom. At age 13, Sharif started a club to raise funds for conservation and local wildlife. As age 16, Sharif volunteered for 2 years at Stanford Hospital in the Emergency Room & ICU and Veterans Affairs Hospital in Radiology where she mastered her radical empathy skills. Sharif has also volunteered with Planned Parenthood, Austin City Limits Festival, Austin Chronicle, City of Austin, LQBTQ-led HackOut, Lesbians Who Tech, Women Who Code, Hispanic Hackers, and MozFest.
